Marina Maintenance Update

  • Completed Maintenance
    • Jerry (plumber) repaired main water line vicinity of G-01. Check to see how many other main water line joints are in Marina
    • PJ (Carpenter) ongoing dock repairs – floats; triangles, aluminum covering
    • Repaired/repairing security cameras and Wifi (2ea)
    • Painted electrical box near Gate 2
    • Replaced Gate 1 door lock
  • New and Ongoing Maintenance
    • Re-trim around Marina basin
    • Move “end of ramp” signs for safety – Dockmaster
    • Clean and renumber Dock Pedestals
    • Slip Owners/Renters clean individual dock boxes

      • Signed dredge material spoil site contract on April 3, 2025 with deposit of $10K
        • Land owner – Chris Magee, Frankford, DE
        • Price is $10 per yard (4,000 yards x $10 = $40K)
      • Conducted on-site visit with Dredging Company – develop and sign contract
        • Owner – Clarke Droney, Millville, DE
        • Price is $45 per yard (4,000 yards x $45 = $40K)
        • Previous Marina dredging conducted December 1-31, 2017, $100+K, Clarke Droney (estimate was $27 yard)
      • Tentative dredge date – determined by DNREC and USACE – Jan – Feb 2026
      • Conduct bathymetric study in 2026 at the conclusion of dredging
    • Marina Replacement Update – Sub-committee
      • Develop and send out to all Slip Owners a Marina Replacement Survey on potential ways forward as per the Annual meeting
      • Marina Replacement proposals; previous estimate August 2020 at $3.8M, and May 2023 at $4.35M
      • Review Capital Improvement loan information with banks
    • Review Marina Monthly activity task list for August, September, October

Future Business

  • 2026 – Delaware Boater Safety Course conducted by the USCG Auxiliary Indian River Station.  Slip Renter is Instructor.  Cost is $20 per student.  Include an Indian River Inlet familiarization portion for new Owners/Renters.
