Financial Report
Financial report was reviewed and approved.
Currently, we have $88,841 in our checking account for operating expenses and over $324,000 in
long-term reserves. However, repair expenses will continue.
Old Business
Pole Replacement: Pole replacement is complete. Caps still have to be installed on several poles
and two existing metal poles could not be removed despite repeated attempts. As these two poles
are still very solid, this should not present a problem going forward.
Dock Surface Coatings: Still investigating different options on cleaning, sealing and extending the
life of the docks. Dock repairs will continue to be an ongoing process.
Annual Meeting: The annual meeting will take place on 5/19/2018 at 10:00AM. There will be two
open positions for the Marina Board.
Buoy Replacement: The missing buoy that was located at the entrance to the marina has been
found and placed back in its proper position. No new buoys will have to be purchased. We may
have to double chain them to make a more secure connection to the concrete base.
John Boat Acquisition: The board is currently searching for a 14’ johnboat to facilitate dock
maintenance and repairs. Any suggestions on where to acquire one would be greatly appreciated.
Dock Boxes: We are seeing some dock boxes whose lids were not secured damaged by high
winds. It is the slip owner’s responsibility to make sure the lids are secured. Should your box need
securing the dock decking, please notify Bob at the Marina office and we will arrange to have the
repair made.
New Business
HVAC Repair: The marina air conditioner developed a refrigerant leak and has been successfully
repaired.
Operation Seas the Day: Bay Colony Marina will be participation in Operation Seas the Day again
this year. It will similar to previous years whereby the Wounded Warriors organization will provide
us with a list of families of wounded veterans so that they may spend a day with our volunteers out
on our beautiful bay.
Operation & Maintenance Plan: on every even numbered year, the Delaware Department of
Natural Resources(DNREC) requires us to submit our Operation and Maintenance Plan. This
submission is due in June.
Annual Meeting: The annual meeting will take place on 5/19/2018 at 10:00AM
Next Meeting: Tuesday, 7:00PM on 6/19/2018
