Approved and posted to Marina website the Minutes from the April Monthly Board Meeting held on May 5, 2021.
Financial Review
- Reviewed the 2021 Marina Budget and monthly spend plan – no issues.
- Still need to interview a new Bank for a third Marina Capital Reserve account in order to spilt funds across multiple FDIC banks.
- Reviewed the slip transactions for the month
- Reviewed increasing the Slip transfer fee from $300 to $500, but requires a BCMSOA majority member vote, so decision delayed.
Previous Business
- DNREC completed its Annual Marina Wetlands Environmental Inspection in April and the Marina passed the inspection by DNREC Division of Water and Wetlands
- DNREC completed its on-site inspection of the Marina 2020-22 Marina O&M Plan. We are still awaiting final approval and final report from POC Julie Molina, Environment Scientist, DNREC Division of Water and Wetlands
- Updated the Marina Constant Contact list with new Slip Owners and Renter’s emails (continual)
- Published the following Constant Contact emails to all Slip Owners and Slip Renters
- Annual Meeting slides
- USCG ECOS for awareness
- Bay Colony Community and Marina Annual Garage Sale; Saturday, June 5, 8:00 to 12:00PM. First time for Marina yard sale.
- Completed the Marina Annual Meeting held on Saturday, May 15, 10:00AM; approximately 20 Slip Owners were in attendance; conducted the following –

- Input from Slip Owners on new Dock proposal and initiatives
- Removed BoatUS Marina Discount from Outdoor Bulletin Board; no more group discounts by BoatUS

Maintenance Work
- Completed
- Purchased four Dock fire extinguisher boxes that were broken; two replaced, two on-hand and will be replaced
- Re-positioned Red and Green Channel buoys and located previous red (1) and green (3) weighted buckets. All were re-secured to red and green buoys
- Swept Marina channel entrance bottom (twice) for object in water – nothing found
- Fixed leaky water bib assembly inside dock pedestals (6-7ea); completed by Plumber
- Reviewed proposal by Apple Marine Construction (George Apple) for the following dock items: voted no; cost prohibitive ($43K)
- Repair dock under-bracing between G and H dock and also H-dock
- Replace two damaged pile cap covers on G or H-dock
- Repair and filled Dock holes with cement compound
- New and Ongoing
- Purchase and replace two damaged pile cap covers on G-dock poles
- Repair dock under-bracing between G and H dock and also H-dock
- Repair and fill Dock holes with cement compound
- Repair Gate 1 door latch (again)
- Repair exterior building light fixture (again)
- Cutting down wooden poles holding fire water hook-ups; ongoing
- Replace 1-2 upward electrical grass outlets with flush ground outlets
- Power wash back of Marina Office building and backside stairway; initial wash completed, second wash to be done
- Ongoing replacement of burnt out dock pedestal bulbs/light sensors
- Install remainder of new Panel Box overhead roof assembly over Gate 1
